My Morning Skincare Routine
Unlock My Glowing Skin
Let me be very clear, I’m no expert or beauty guru. As I get older, I realize how important touching your skin is to your daily life. So, since my late 20s, I have been working on a morning and nighttime skincare routine. My routine does change from year to year based on what my skin needs. I have tried a lot of products, and the ones listed below are ones I really love and think keep my skin looking flawless.
I read somewhere to apply your skincare products from thinnest to thickest. So, my routine is based on that. My routine is not extensive since I’m lazy and have ADHD brain. It took me a while to stick to a routine, but here it is.
Step 1: Cleanser
Lately, I have been using the Aveeno Clear Complexion Foaming Cleansers or the Radiant Skin Brightening Cleanser. As someone who doesn’t really experience acne, this product tends to do the trick. Also, it does not leave my skin dry. The best thing about the cleanser is that it falls under FSA eligibility.
Step 2: Toner
My go-to product is Thayer’s Rose Petal Facial Toner. I found that the rose water brought a refreshing feeling to my face, know some toners out there can dry your face... This product is alcohol-free and really does a great job of hydrating.
Step 3: Serums
I used to buy pearl essence at TJMaxx, but in the last two years, I have switched to Ordinary and Good Molecule. I usually have three serums in rotation: vitamin C, hyaluronic acid, and niacinamide. I have been a big fan of Good Molecule lately; their products work well with my skin and have a good price point. I have eye discoloration serum but don’t implement it on a daily basis as I should. If I have it on hand I will use it, but I can go several months without implementing the serum into my routine.
Step 4: Moisturizer
Aveeno Moisturizer is my go-to. It’s convenient, and I can buy it with my FSA card. My skin doesn’t really like oily products. Aveeno does a really good job of keeping my skin hydrated without making it oily from their product.
Step 5: Sunscreen:
My sunscreen depends on what I have at any given time. Right now, I’m using La Roche-Posay SPF. I recently bought several Goop products I have been wanting to try for a while. Another good brand is Elta MD. I think everyone should implement sunscreen into their daily routine.
Step 6: Lip Care:
What I Have on Hand Aquaphor is the go-to product that I always carry around.
