Life Lately

Still in my mental health era, which means I’m setting boundaries, creating my own safe space, and reducing my people-pleasing and self-abandonment tendencies. I’m in intensive therapy, and it has helped me discover new DBT skills that I never thought about using in my day-to-day life.

It’s funny because I’ve spent my career helping others in the mental health field, coaching them on CBT, yet I went most of my life not applying the same advice to myself.

I also recently quit my part-time job due to the stress of working the night shift. I left in a non-conventional way, but to me, it wasn’t about them, it was about protecting my peace of mind. I doubt I’ll ever run into them again.

I’ve started a new job that will be a stress-free environment where I can see myself staying long-term. I did take a pay cut, but for the sake of my sanity, I’m okay with having an entry-level position if it means more time off and less micromanagement.
