24 Hours in Chicago: A Tourist's Guide
Chicago, often known as the “Windy City, is famed for its landmark buildings, top-notch museums, delectable cuisine, and thriving cultural scene. It can be challenging to see everything this city has to offer in just 24 hours, but with little preparation, you can make the most of your time in Chicago.
Morning: Visit the Willis Tower, one of the city's most recognizable buildings, to kick off your day (formerly known as the Sears Tower). View the city and Lake Michigan from above on the Skydeck observation deck. Visit the Art Institute of Chicago, which has a sizable collection of American and European art, after soaking in the vistas.
Afternoon: Visit Lou Malnati's for one of the city's renowned deep-dish pizzas for lunch. If you're in the mood for something different, try the city's famous Italian beef sandwich at Al's Italian Beef.
Take a stroll down Michigan Avenue's Magnificent Mile after lunch if you want to experience premium restaurants, shopping, and entertainment. Admire the Tribune Tower and Wrigley Building's stunning architecture.
Evening: Attend a performance or a concert at the Chicago Theatre in the evening. Visit the storied jazz club The Green Mill for some live jazz if you're in the mood for some live music.
Late Night: For a late-night snack, grab a hot dog from the venerable Hot Doug's or visit the well-liked The 50s Diner, a renowned 24-hour diner.
You can only see a small portion of everything Chicago has to offer in a single day, but with some forward planning and strategic pacing, you can make the most of your time there.
